Difrax advises that nipple-shield sizing should be based on the size of the nipple rather than the areola. When correctly fitted, the nipple should have approximately 1–2mm of space inside the shield.

How to use
- Wash your hands before use.
- Apply the nipple shield to a clean, dry breast.
- Position the centre of the shield over the nipple.
- Smooth the shield firmly onto the breast.
- Position the cut-out section towards baby's nose to allow more skin contact.
- Do not apply cream or oil underneath the shield.
Cleaning & sterilising
Before first use and after subsequent use, Difrax recommends sterilising the nipple shields in boiling water for at least 3 minutes.
